We are looking for talented engineers who will be designing and engineering a wide range of energy systems based on clean tech. Successful candidates should be equipped with strong technical skills and a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
Upon joining our team candidates will be trained to apply those fundamentals to applications in the renewable energy industry that include solar energy, energy storage and energy efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform site visits to collect and analyze data as well as conduct energy audits.
  • Design solar energy systems.
  • Prepare client proposals.
  • Present proposals to engineering and management teams on the client’s side.
  • Participate in project implementation and supervise technicians.
  • Manage contacts with a variety of local suppliers.
  • Research and identify new products and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Young, driven, hard working and highly motivated by challenges and fast paced environments
  • Good communication skills.
  • We believe work experience is not measured in the number of years of work, but rather by the amount of exposure. Consequently, we do not have a specific requirement on number of years of work experience. We are instead looking for candidates who have deep understanding of theoretical and practical engineering fundamentals. Experience in renewables is a plus.
  • Engineering degree, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • Resident of the country where office is located and fluent in the national language.

We are seeking energetic youth with very strong communication and sales skills. Successful candidates will be promoting the company’s products and services to new clients while managing relationships with existing clients. Candidates who work in this position will have a direct opportunity to increase the share of renewables in their country’s energy mix and increase the adoption of renewable technologies. In addition to selling and marketing company products in solar energy, energy storage, and energy efficiency; candidates are also expected to identify new market opportunities and play a role in coming up with new company products and services in collaboration with other company divisions.

Kwame Hall

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Excited to be part of a company that was embarking on changing the power industry, Kwame quit his job in manufacturing at one of the largest companies in the region, packed his bags and flew to Egypt to join FEC as a Research Engineer. He later climbed up the ranks one promotion after the other, and now serves as the company's Director of Operations for the Caribbean region.


Why I Joined

When I joined the team, FEC presented a unique opportunity to do cutting edge research designing the company's own proprietary solar technology to take advantage of some of the best renewable energy resources the world has to offer. Not only was it technically challenging but it was in a region of the world I was very unfamiliar with on a personal level. I joined for the thrill of work on something I love with a team brimming with energy in a fascinating region of the world.


What I Do

I now run the Caribbean operations of FEC, primarily overseeing and expanding its project portfolio in the region. We achieve growth by introducing new and creative business models and technologies that advance our position in our markets and the industry as a whole.



FEC Highlights

  • The company got me a ticket to the World Cup finals match in Brazil two weeks before the the match, after I joked that I'd love to go.

  • Moving to Egypt and experiencing the evolution of the company before, during and after the Egyptian revolution. I vividly remember witnessing the crowds chanting in the middle of Tahrir square with millions of Egyptians, following the overthrow of former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

  • Forging an equity partnership with the largest security company in the Caribbean, solarizing all their locations and providing solar systems to all their clients region wide.

Marketing

Ramy Khorshed

Bachelor of Science in Economics and Information Science
Duke University

Keen to explore the energy industry at an early stage of his career, Ramy interned at FEC following his first year at university. His experience sparked a passion for the firm and the industry which in turn led into a second internship and finally, a full-time position. After taking a brief leave of absence to co-found a start-up, Ramy rejoined the team to spearhead new marketing initiatives in the Cairo Office.



Why I Joined

First, was the appeal of working towards creating lasting regional and global impact through FEC that would not only benefit the industry but society as a whole.
Second, was the tremendous potential for growth that I was presented within the firm through personalized mentorship and exponentially increasing responsibilities.
Finally, I was enticed by the prospect of joining a team that was not only brimming with talent and intensity but also had a track-record of accomplishment.

What I Do

I am in charge of developing and executing new marketing initiatives in the Cairo office as well developing FEC's global brand through our media and online platforms.
I use all the tools at my disposal to help introduce advanced energy technologies into new markets and phase-out old, inefficient, and unreliable infrastructure.

FEC Highlights

  • Very early in my career at FEC I was invited to speak at global events in locations as far and wide as Miami, USA and Xi'an, China; where I met Ministers and Presidents from different parts of the world and shared the stage with the Governor of Florida & the Mayor of Toronto.

  • Shadowed the CEO on business trips that have spanned four continents to participate in meetings with representatives from dozens of industries

  • Ran data analysis for projects that included projecting the grid-load of Electric Vehicle proliferation in Egypt.

Reem Yusuf

With a background of film making, architecture, and social development, Reem was keen on taking a new challenge by getting into the energy industry. The combination of working on cutting edge renewable energy projects at FEC while also leading educational and development programs as part of the Company's CSR work was the perfect combination for her.

Why I Joined

It's not like every day you get a chance to work on the creation of the world's first carbon neutral town. I was also intrigued by the idealistic values and the high level of energy in the company and was keen on being as good of an energy executive as I was in the previous fields I worked in.






What I Do

My career got off to an exciting start at FEC - following my time at the firm I attended Oxford University on an FEC scholarship that in turn led me to position at the World Bank as an Energy Consultant.

  • Managing a large infrastructure project that directly involved the Egyptian Ministers of Electricity, Tourism, & Environment

  • Getting a Scholarship from FEC for my Masters studies at Oxford University

  • Living on the beach for 6 months as part of an assignment at one of the company's coastal offices.
